Ah, hello there, its been a quick minute. But, you're in luck, because I'm back to talk about something that is and isn't tangible. Can you guess what it is ... drum roll please ... FEELINGS and EMOTIONS! Yay, a topic that all love to discuss.
I'm definitely kidding, no one really likes to talk about their "feelings." For those of you who know me, you're aware that I'm not "outwardly" an emotional person. In tricky and uncomfortable situations, logic is my best friend. I'd rather eat my feelings that act like they exist. Easier right? Right.
Anyways, let me bring this back around to tie it into writing. Because, let's be honest, this blog revolves around writing and my goal is to show everyone that you too can write.
Okay! So where were we ... AH! Yes. Ew, feelings. So, the purpose of this blog post is to introduce a new writer I'm adding! I call her Madds, to you she is said new writer :). If I can get her on a schedule (I say that with love, Madds) you will have the pleasure to read her points of views on different emotions every week.
Now, if I was you I'd be thinking, umm why emotions? Literally, anything else would work. WRONG. As you may or may not know (but seriously, by now you should know) I've written a novel, Caged - The Human Zoo. This book is the closest thing I have to a child. I've put tears, sweat and coffee into it, literally (you should see some of the pages). Caged is more than just a story about a girl living in a human zoo and a boy who is fascinated by her; it's about people and how we treat one another.
Maybe you don't like to talk about emotions, I sure don't. But, that doesn't mean you can't read about them, learn about them, and express them. It was my goal to cover as many controversial topics in my book. Who knows if I ultimately succeed. What I did succeed with though, is covering a wide range of emotions. BUT, I'm not good at verbally expressing them! That's where Madds comes in.
She is an exceptional writer with a heart full of gold and a mind built by compassion. There is no better person to cover this topic than her, in my humble opinion. While reading her work I guarantee you that sometimes you'll be overcome with joy as you relate to pleasant memories from times in the past. Other times you might cry because you realize damn that IS how I'm feeling. That's okay! The point is to connect with you through writing. That's always been my goal. It's the reason I'm trying to be an author.
Physical connections are great and all but they fade much faster than the words that scroll through your head while reliving a memory. So, I hope you are you excited to have the opportunity to read another writer's work. Don't worry, I'll still be posting my rambling bullshit throughout ;). For those of you who weren't worried, I get it ha-ha.
