My alarm went off this morning around glorious 6:30 am. Groggily, and with eyes sealed shut, I use my hand to touch around aimlessly above my head until I find my phone. Bringing it to an uncomfortable closeness to my face, I turn it on. Blazing white light blinds me. You'd think I would know better by now. I don't. After adjusting, I type in my password and begin to check my meaningless apps: Snapchat, email, two dots (a game that I highly recommend) and Instagram. Sighing and feeling deflated at now 6:50 am (whoops), I open up Wattpad. Now, for those who don't remember, Wattpad is a website where anyone can post writing pieces that the whole world can read, for free. My own novel, Caged - The Human Zoo is on there now.

Anyways, on Watttpad, when you look at the title page for my book, the lay out goes, cover picture, title, reads, votes, etc. Well, I have great news ... Caged - The Human Zoo has reached over 1,000 reads! 1000+ READS. For me, this is monumental and it is necessary that I share my thanks for you, with you.
For everyone who has read my story, thank you. It's been my dream to become a writer for as long as I can remember. Growing up as an avid reader made me the butt of many jokes, but I didn't, and still don't care. Reading is truly special. You are able to see the words of someones imagination or reality intimately on delicate paper that at any moment could crumble. It's mortifying to express the words in your head that are only for you to hear out loud to the world; yet, freeing at the same time. But that's what writing is, bringing invisible entities to a tangible reality.
Caged - The Human Zoo has been alive in my head for 3 years now. It's been worked on paper for 1 and I've been trying to get published for the same length of time. It doesn't have a definitive genre. There is a love story, morbidly depressing scenes questioning humanity and mediocre bits to ease the pain. But, that is life. Life is full of these tiny moments, good and bad, consequential and inconsequential.
I try to express this with my writing and help you appreciate the individual path each one of you is on. I'm so frustrated with the judgement of others in this world and attempt to show that in Caged. I want to spread the message that we may not all be equal in each others eyes, but that doesn't change the fact everyone deserves respect.
So humbly, I ask if you haven't already to please read Caged - The Human Zoo. I can't do this without you. If you like it, vote on it or share it. If you don't like it, even better. Message me with your criticisms.
In the end though, regardless what you decided to do, for those of you on this journey with me, you have my gratitude and love.
